My Clear for Life Hex Uniquarium came outfitted with a Rio 1700. The pump is a tight fit and it's the model that I'm certain will fit in the tight space available in the filter box. The output is strong and the last one ran continuously for at least 10 years before it didn't. Over the years I struggled to muffle the noise the pump emitted. I put down a closed cell neoprene pad for the pump to rest on and I wrapped the body of the pump with self-adhesive neoprene sheet where it might contact the sides of the tank and transmit its noise.
Unfortunately the replacement is even louder than the one I just took to the bin.
