I was initially impressed because I only ordered 10 cardinal tetras and there were at least 15 or more in the bag, and incidentally, there was a mystery fish included. Order came in promptly; however, the fish were fry size (less than 1/2 inch). Less than 24 hours later, after adding them to my aquarium, only one cardinal tetra and the incidental fish survived. That was a 99% mortality rate. I was suspicious of my harlequin rasboras, already in the tank, of eating them but sort of unlikely since their mouths are small. I am not likely to purchase cardinal tetras from Danbury Aquarium again, unless they are larger than 1/2 inch in size.
From time to time we offer the Jumbo size Cardinals tetras, we just got some in this week Video was posted on Social Media and more coming next week, you ordered the regular size ones, ussualy i send extras in case of DOA in trasit so that was a gift, Mistery fish was a gift also that I sellect a lucky customer to receive a free fish comparable to your order! unfortunally acclimation has to be done correct on every fish arrival and shipping water should never go into your tank, after drip acclimation is done fish ONLY goes in to he tank, once that done we have no control over any issues that can happen with tank mates or water conditions. Thanks for the review, unfortunally they arrive weekly as we sell 1000's of them a week and we dont have time to grow all of them to full size. I am glad they all made alive and healthy as we quarentine and prep them before shipping!
