DANBURY AQUARIUM
ACARA – BLUE ACARA CICHLID FISH
ACARA – BLUE ACARA CICHLID FISH
Aequidens pulcher
The Blue Acara Cichlid is a very easy to breed fish.
During breeding time, they tend to get territorial and will pair off with mates to form families. The male and female will care for their young. If the young are removed from the aquarium, breeding will occur about every two weeks. To encourage breeding, temperature should be between 80-85 degrees.
The Blue Acara have a mottled brown body with electric blue spots that outline the body and mouth. An aquarium consisting of at least 50 gallons and a sandy bottom with small pebbles is ideal for these fish. Live plants should also be planted to protect the roots from these fish. Since they are omnivores, their diets consist of most foods including freeze-dried bloodworms, tubifex, ocean plankton, and flake food.

Size didn’t meet my expectations.
Can’t wait to watch this fish grow. Fish arrived healthy. This fish joined my tank which has an Electric Blue Acara and a crossbreed between an Electric Blue and Blue Acara. The colors that these three Acaras are going to put out as they mature is going to be stunning. Thank you for a great purchase.
happy you love it! thanks again
